All,
A good match last night by all. As predicted The Comets with their positional play and experience gave us a pretty good lesson.
I thought the Titans were particularily good on faceoffs probably winning over 80%. Also, after an uncertain start, there were lost of of dump-ins and recoveries. The Titans started to gel as a unit and gain confidence in the latter half.
Here's some tactical things and observations we can work on:
- Our own zone positioning saw everyone back to defend (good) but at times we congregated around our own net. Wingers need to stay high while the C & D check the attacking forward line.
- 3 of their 5 goals came after they passed it around our zone. Again, Titans need to work on responsibilities, positioning and commiting to covering a player. Often it's the attacker who doesn't have the puck who is the most dangerous. - There was hardly any talking amongst players. Don't be afraid to yell for a pass!
I'll hand out a CD of positional plays that you can read/watch.
Thanks guys for the effort!
Cheers,
Woody
