Men,
The Comets have challened us to a match Thurs Nov 24th @ 9:15 pm.
The Comets are an experienced and well-trained side and our rookies can learn a lot about hockey by playing this match.
Thus I'd like to hear from all who would be interested in playing asap!!
Oh - and we'll need a ref - any volunteers??

We'll probably go with just two D pair for this game. I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of guys for the final places.

No matter - we have a good number of players who aren't afraid of the Comets and won't turtle.

we performed well as a team of rookies, in a non contact game, who have only been playing together for a few months and for some people it was only their second game. we did lose 5-2 but i think there were a lot of positives to come out of that game, to show us what we need to improve. i enjoyed it apart from getting deked outta my skates, but i suppose it wasnt hard to do. When is the rematch? Thanks to all the Comets.

Some of the Comets asked for another game but this time they said we can play a "contact" game - their words were "we'll still beat you" - so I think that is a challange guys...
I enjoyed the game though - although it is a nightmare trying to play non-contact, whislt also allowing them to hold and hit us as much as they want, but the second we even sneezed on them the dodgey ref called us for a penalty...
As mentioned, I think we destroyed them in the face-off circle, but we lost our way as an attacking force at times. We did concede a few soft goals, but it is all a good learning curve for us rookies...
When is the rematch then?

I think we'd do em in non contact if we have a rematch i said to mario after the game defo up for it though!

as woody said in the wrap up i think that our positional play is a little off but at least we have been pointed in the right direction. i think if we played them in a non contact we would have a better chance next time around. Thanks to coach medway and others involved, was a really interesting night |
