Summer Cup Winners 2005 let the season commence!
For years now Cardiff and Swindon have hated each other. But out of all the teams in all the leagues no matter how good they are this is the game that we both look forward to no matter how much it hurts, we both love to hate but on the other hand we do have a mutual respect for each other, Both teams are full of great talent and hard hitting physical players some young some old and some not so talented fat lazy D-men like me (who just cant wait till the end of the period for a cigarette).
It is the first game of the season and the hardest game of the season as this will determine who wants this summer cup more
I do not know if it is the same as the last time i played Swindon nearly two years ago but everytime we lose against them we take it with us too the next game with them the pressure builds up and the goans come out in everybody. So in light of this just because we have not got our star players (will not name names) woody has picked some f****** good players and the star players only got where they are now because onece upon a time the star players could not make that game so they had that chance so take it and use it. So lets bring this game to them they are in our rink (for the last time???) trying to take our cup that you guys worked hard for to win last year so don't let the bas***** get it back.
The best way to beat these bums is to play hockey do not be lured in to goaning it up because that is when they take full advantage (i know i can talk but that is the only way i can get on the score sheet) . There is too much talent out there on that ice to throw it away with stupid roughing penalties.
So i sugest CLEAN Hard Hitting, Fast ,Skillful, Hockey, get that puck moving around make them skate as woody said tuesday we think we have X-ray vision get those pucks on the sticks and try not to cough it up which we can all be guilty of (those that do not know what i am talking about ask woody on sat was something to do with them putting there stick down on the ice and the other one they had there sticks the wrong way round but it made sense at the time he he only joking wood it was good)
Think of this if they do not have the puck they can not score any goals which means they will take the penalties
Pepper that goalie with shots the more you shot the more chance it has of going in.
Seeing how many players you can skate around does not put points on the board.
Use the D on the point Medway has a mean shot get on that net and tip it in use the power where you can.
D if in doubt dump it out the forwards will give you s h i t but f*** em at the end of the day its the D that get blamed for most goals for not skating hard, not clearing the net or blocking the goalies view so just get rid if its outside the zone we are safe. Its hard being a D man we have to do everything backwards for christ sake.
If all else fails and this post is complete S H I T lets play old school hockey put on the foil and kick some f****** ass
