1) When is the rink closing??
2) Where will we play summer cup games??
3) Will the temporary rink be open when WNIR closes??
4) If not where and when will training be held??
5) Do we have same ice time in new rink??
6) How long will we be training in temporary rink??
7) Will training costs be the same??
8) Where will temporary rink be???
9) Where will new rink when built be??
10) Will game costs be the same?? as i know that finance has its ups and downs during the season
11) Most important will there be a skate sharpener at new rink???
Boy i believe it is now time to start thinking hard about what will happen as it is a killer taking time out from hockey as i well know it is hard to get back into the swing of things after a long break.
Any other questions please just ask them do not be backward in coming forward as it is in each any every players best interest to find out

I give up!! just questions all you need to say is don't know yet!!
General questions i am interested to know. Not knocking anybody or trying to do anybodies job just asking as it popped into my head. From now on i will not bother asking questions regarding the club or the website as it obviously being taken too personally. Just let me know when you know unlike others on the team i do not know anything about the closure of the rink as i only knew it was closing when i came back so i am not as up to date as the rest

None of these answers are definate, just what I am led to believe - and so are very much subject to change:-
1) When is the rink closing?? Supposed to be May 31st, but this is likely to be extended as the temp' rink will not be anywhere near ready then - and I know we have been told that there will be as little as possible disruption during this transition.
2) Where will we play summer cup games?? Hopefully at the current rink - but this all depends when they do actually close the doors. I am hoping that we will get a long enough delay that we can complete all our games in the current building.
3) Will the temporary rink be open when WNIR closes?? No doubt there will be some gap between these two events happening - the council have said that they will make this as short as possible so there should not be too much disruption to things like Junior Development etc
4) If not where and when will training be held?? I guess we will all have to think of something else to do during this "gap" period - cos there will be some sort of gap, that much I am sure of.
5) Do we have same ice time in new rink?? The new temp rink is supposed to offer the exact same time slots that we currently have.
6) How long will we be training in temporary rink?? Temp rink is scheduled to be in place for approx 4 years - but then the current WNIR is a "temp" rink, and we are still there after 20 years - I am not holding my breath on the new so called arena - having said that, there was also talk then when the new arena is built, the current "temp" rink will then be used for training purposes etc - although there may also be a training pad alongside the new arena like in Nottingham.
7) Will training costs be the same?? This is the million dollar question - it seems likely that this new temp rink is gonna be council run - and lets face it, they can then charge us what they like for ice time - even though they have initially said that everything should stay the same as it is currently at the WNIR.
8) Where will temporary rink be??? Down the Cardiff Bay - next to where they are currently building the Morrisons (yellow frame).
9) Where will new rink when built be?? Depends if we get the Casino or not - it's all gonna be roughly in the same location down the bay mind - but the plans I've seen keep changing slightly.
10) Will game costs be the same?? as i know that finance has its ups and downs during the season Again this depends on who is running the ice rink.
11) Most important will there be a skate sharpener at new rink??? Lets hope so eh - they are probably gonna be taking everything from the WNIR down to the temp rink - all except the bar - cannot believe there will be no where for us to have a beer down there!
Like I said, this is just my understanding on the situation - there has now been written confirmation given by the council the the temp rink will go ahead and be ready in time for the next Devils season - so with this in mind I don't think they will close the WNIR until they are happy that the new rink will be fully functional in time for face off at the start of next season...part of me thinks that there will no doubt be more delays, and so the Devils will probably start the season in the WNIR, or play away games and then go down the Bay probably later in the year, for example November time...
Just my 2p worth anyway...

Dooey, good answers. There is one question that the baldy grumpy old steward forgot to ask. Are there any outline designs and do we know what the capacity is going to be 10, 100 or 1000 to accomodate the titan fans / Bobs followers!!
Cheers

Clarky - the temp rink is going to be of very similar size to the WNIR (heck they are supposed to be using most of the fixtures and fittings from the current rink, so it has to be about the same size - although I can't believe that they are gonna try and use the same seats) - the last I heard too that there was going to be 500 standing also - this was something that was missing originally. As far as I know, the team (from Finland and who are also doing the Manchester rink) have been given our requirements and hopefully a final design/seating plan should be available in about a week. Heck the club are hoping to sell Season tickets sometime soon, so they'd better have the seating plan all sorted...

Just a few points i know of the WNIR was not a temp building just the pad was,the ice surface is the same size. They are planning just a short period of time between the rinks opening and closing about 3 weeks last i here'd,there will be a skate sharpening machine at the new rink and there is a void area in the new building and plans are to use it as a bar.
